Company journey

Companies are increasingly relying on ever-larger datasets to learn more about and better understand their customers. But as new data breaches and questions of who knows what about the individual pop up on what feels like a daily basis, we’re also seeing a considerable shift in consumer and government attitudes towards consumer rights and privacy regulation.

Everyone has heard of GDPR and CCPA at this point but there are hundreds of other privacy regulations on the books with more being introduced all the time. Companies are contending with huge datasets populated with structured and unstructured data. Just about every one that we’ve spoken with are still searching for the right platform to make compliance work in this increasingly convoluted landscape.

These challenges are exactly what Vaibhav Mehrotra, Prashant Sharma, and the entire team at Secuvy are solving for. We invested in this team (announced today) because we believe they are at the forefront of data security and privacy. In an era where most data products tend to be point solutions, Secuvy aims to offer an entire platform built around the needs of privacy professionals. With a fully cloud-native solution capable of running inside the customer’s cloud environment, we are able to ensure no sensitive information is ever exfiltrated, in addition to offering the scale-out computing power necessary to detect Personally Identifiable Information across not just your most sensitive information but your entire environment.

Vaibhav and Prashant were motivated to bring a solution like Secuvy to market because they’ve both seen how complicated compliance can get having led the security and data infrastructure teams at Plume Design respectively. There, they were tasked with keeping up with the ever-complex privacy landscape at one of the largest IoT businesses handling smart home/smart building data for residential and commercial customers.

We are excited to work with such a strong founding team. They have decades of experience combined between them, and have ran a highly-efficient business with real customers in production without ever raising an institutional round. We at DTC firmly believe that data collection is only going to grow in size and complexity as will the regulations surrounding it. We look forward to Secuvy’s work to ensure that companies can stay compliant, earning and keeping the trust of consumers and regulators alike.

Welcome to the DTC community, team Secuvy!
