Investing in Twine: Deploying AI ‘Digital Employees’ for Cyber Teams
Company journey

Cybersecurity teams at enterprise-scale companies never have enough time nor all the resources they need to cover every threat coming at them. Agentic AI tools have the potential to remedy this. As just one example, Identity Access Management (IAM) is a critical but often frustratingly manual element of a cybersecurity strategy. Cybersecurity professionals have a thousand ways they could be using their skills protecting their company. Allocating and deallocating access shouldn’t be two of them.

The Twine Solution
That’s where Twine comes in. Benny Porat, Nadav Erez, Omri Green, Justin Woody and team launched Twine into the world today. They’re building technologies to automate away the grind from cybersecurity, starting with IAM. Their first agent or “digital cyber employee” called “Alex” leverages AI to learn, understand, and then automate a company’s access processes.

The Twine team’s theory goes that with cyber teams chronically understaffed, applying AI to the mundane intricacies of managing user access, roles, and permissions across sprawling IT ecosystems could strengthen cyber hygiene while saving thousands of work hours. Sounds simple enough but the complexity is high and compounded with every new system added. It’s a problem that is well suited to an AI-driven solution.

The Team
Investing at the seed stage is always an implicit bet/endorsement of the team often over the tech or the market. We look for teams that pair big ideas with innate customer empathy and operational excellence. It didn’t take a big stretch of the imagination to the see the promise here with Twine. This team has already played major roles in founding and scaling Claroty, a cybersecurity company that focused on a hard problem and found strong product-market-fit, claiming 20% of the Fortune 100 as customers and more than $100M in ARR.

The team is building on that experience to understand the challenges the enterprise security buyer faces right now. They’ve talked to more than 100 cyber leaders as they’ve developed their first product. Their commitment to building customer-centric solutions has been evident in every conversation we’ve had.

Our Commitment
Cyber and AI technologies are evolving rapidly and there will be a ton of potential where the two intersect. To the team at Twine: we believe you are well-equipped to lead the charge to deliver real AI efficiencies to scaled cyber teams. Thanks for the opportunity for us to co-lead your seed round along with Ten Eleven Ventures. Can’t wait to see this take off. 🚀
