Exotec Launches Next Gen Skypod System

Exotec officially launched the next generation of Skypod, their Automated Storage and Retrieval System for warehouse automation. Over the last nine years and under the leadership of founders Romain Moulin (CEO) and Renaud Heitz (CTO), this team has dedicated itself to modernizing the warehouse for large scale retailers.

The product advancements with the new Skypod are impressive– integrating more warehouse processes into one platform, improved system density, and higher throughput. Exotec’s customer-centric approach to developing their systems is allowing companies to rethink and simplify their entire supply chain strategy. Customers can do more with the space they have which gives them more flexibility in warehouse locations and a better ability to dynamically respond to cost pressures and shifting consumer behaviors.

As a board member and investor, the “so what” that I’m more interested in is the customer response. The numbers speak for themselves. With the Next Gen Skypod, the company has earned more than $400M in orders for 20+projects worldwide across industries such as consumer packaged goods, grocery, and apparel. Those are prelaunch sales.  

This Skypod release is a culmination of several years of working with and studying their customer’s needs and then translating them into an elegant, scalable system. So, congratulations to the team on the work that went into this launch. You continue to impress!
